Books purchased via the Book Empress storefront on Bookshop.org are subject to the Bookshop.org’s specific terms and conditions. All refunds, returns, and shipping inquiries must be handled directly through the Bookshop.org website.
Book Empress Direct Sales
Except as noted below, all sales of books, gift cards, and merchandise made directly through Book Empress are final.
- Used Book Trade-Ins: Used books may be traded in for store credit only, subject to our current Trade-In Policy. Store credit is non-transferrable and has no monetary value.
- Issues & Damaged Items: If there is an issue with your order (such as shipping damage or receiving the wrong item), please contact us within 7 business days of delivery so we can make it right.
Discretionary Returns
In the rare event that a return or refund is approved at the owner’s discretion:
- Shipping Costs: Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
- Return Shipping: You are responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to us. For items of $50, we strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance; we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
- Condition: Items must be returned in the same condition as they were received.
